BOGRA: A man was killed and two others were injured in a clash between supporters of chairmen candidates of Awami League (AL) and BNP for Buriganj Union Parisad under Shibganj upazila of Bogra district.

The deceased was identified as Mahatab Ali, director of Shibganj upazila Palli Bidyut Samity and nephew of AL chairman candidate Abdul Gafur. Two injured are also supporters of AL candidate.

The clash erupted between two rival groups around 10:00pm on Monday (March 14), said Shibganj Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Ahsan Habib.

On the other hand, being informed about the death in the clash, AL candidates supporters vandalized election office of BNP candidate Obaidul Islam at Jamtola bazar of the union.
