DHAKA: The sixth national council of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is set to begin at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) and at north-eastern part of Suhrawardy Udyan in city in the morning on Saturday (March 19).
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is expected to inaugurate the day-long activities of the council around 10:00am by hoisting national and party flags.
The national council will be held under the theme of freeing democracy from captivity.
Some 3,100 councilors, 10,000 delegates, guests, foreign guests and leaders and activists of the party and its front organizations will participate in the council.
The fifth national council of BNP was held on December 8 in 2009.
