DHAKA: Councilors reelected Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman as BNP’s chairperson and senior vice chairman for three next years respectively.

They elected them by their voice votes during the party’s ongoing council on Saturday (March 19).

Earlier in the day, BNP’s standing committee member and also the party’s council commission chairman Jamiruddin Sircar proposed the names to the councilors.

Later, they reelected Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman by their voice votes.

On March 6, the duo were announced elected uncontested as no one vied for the posts.
