NOAKHALI: Two officials of union parishads elections sustained bullet injuries at a girl’s high school polling center in Char King area under Hatia upazila of the district Tuesday morning (March 22).

The injured were identified as assistant presiding officer Shahadat Hossain and polling officer Abdul Awal.

Quoting witnesses, Hatia thana officer-in-charge (OC) Arisul Haque told banglanews that the supporters of ruling Awami League candidate Mohiuddin Ahmed and rebel AL candidate Mohiuddin Muhin exchanged firing to seize the polling center here around 9:30am, leaving the two polls officials injured.

The injured were taken to Upazila Health Complex, he added.

Voting was temporarily postponed in this incident, he added.
