JESSORE: Miscreants shot a local BNP leader to death in Satmail area under Sadar upazila on Tuesday evening (March 29).

The deceased was identified as Idris Ali, 45, joint secretary of Kashempur union BNP of the upazila.

Jessore Kotowali Model Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Ilias Hossain told banglanews that three miscreants shot Idris Ali and fled the scene on a motorcycle in the evening.

Local people rushed him to 250-bed General Hospital where physicians declared him dead on arrival, he added.
