DHAKA: A city court granted the bail of BNP secretary general Fakhrul Islam Alamgir replying to a review plea on Wednesday afternoon (March 30).

Three-hours earlier, the court ordered to send the BNP leader to jail by canceling his bail appeal.

At 12:45pm, court of metropolitan magistrate Golam Nabi ordered to send Mirza Fakhrul to jail by canceling his bail plea in two violence cases filed with Paltan Thana.

Later, defense lawyer Advocate Sanaullah Mia appealed for a review of the order.

The court granted the bail considering the BNP leader’s physical condition after a hearing around 4:00pm.

Earlier in the day, BNP secretary general surrendered to city’s chief metropolitan magistrate (CMM) court and plead for bail.
