DHAKA: Supreme Court (SC) Appellate Division upheld the death sentence to Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen (JMB) militant Masumul Islam.

However, he was sentenced to death in a case over bomb attack at District Judge Court in Lakshmipur district in 2005.

A five member appeal bench, led by chief justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, upheld the verdict on Wednesday (April 5).

Earlier, the High Court (HC) also upheld the verdict of the judicial court.
