‘Shafik Rehman arrested thru' conspiracy’

DHAKA: BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said senior journalist Shafik Rehman was arrested through conspiracy. 

Mirza Fakhrul made this remark in a press conference at BNP chairperson’s office in Gulshan area of Dhaka on Saturday (April 23).

He also said Shafik Rehman was arrested on a false allegation. 

It is inhumane and pathetic to take him on remand after his arrest at this old age on such allegation, the secretary general added.
