DHAKA: Journalist Shafik Rehman has disclosed three more names behind the plot to abduct and murder Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s son Sajeeb Wazed Joy.

Monirul Islam, Additional DIG of Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch, made the disclosure at a press briefing on Sunday (April 24) after end of first day interrogation of ongoing second phase 5-day remand of Shafik Rehman.

Evidences of money transactions with conspirators and FBI agent were found in his bank accounts, Monirul added.

Earlier on April 16, plainclothes detectives arrested Shafik Rehman from his resident in the capital. On the same day, he was placed on a five-day remand.

On April 22, a Dhaka court placed him on a fresh five-day remand in the case filed over an alleged plot to kidnap and kill Joy.
