Mahmudur Rahman on 5-day remand

DHAKA: A Dhaka court has accepted a 5-day remand for Bangla daily ‘Amar Desh’ editor Mahmudur Rahman.

Court of Magistrate Golam Nabi passed the order after hearing on Monday (April 25).

However, the accused was present during the hearing of the case over plot to abduct Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's son and also her ICT advisor Sajeeb Wazed Joy.

Earlier on April 18, metropolitan detective police (DB) officer ASP Hasan Arafat submitted a plea to Dhaka CMM court seeking a 10-day remand for the journalist, who was produced as ‘shown arrested’ in the case.

Moreover, journalist Shafik Rehman was arrested in the same case and was also taken on a 5-day remand for two times.

Mahmudur Rahman’s name came after the second time of remand of Shafik Rehman.

DB police said that they got prove of other top BNP leaders’ involvement in the case.
