CHITTAGONG: police detained 17 leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing, Islami Chhatra Shibir, while they were holding a secret meeting at Patenga of the port city on Saturday (April 30).

Patenga Police Station OC Alamgir Mahmud told banglanews that on information they surrounded a restaurant near the entrance of Patenga sea beach and managed to detain 17 around 3:00pm.

Police recovered a three-page book about future work-plan of Jamaat-e-Islami, he added.
