COMILLA: A youth, named Tapash Chandra Das, was beaten to death during a clash between supporters of Awami League and party’s rebel candidates in Brahmanpara of the district.

The clash erupted in front of north Chandala Government Primary School during voting Union Parishad election on Saturday (may 7) morning.

Local source said, supporters of Awami League rebel member candidate have beaten Tapash, supporter of AL candidate, to death.

Voting in 703 union parishads (UP) in 88 upazilas of 46 districts in the fourth phase got underway on Saturday morning (May 7) amid tight security.

The voting started at 8:00am and will continue uninterruptedly till 4:00pm.
