COMILLA: A local unit Jubo League leader was chopped to death by some miscreants in Manoharganj upazila of the district on Friday (May 13).

Deceased 33-year-old Jahangir Hossain, who was former president of the party of Word No 7 and son of Ahsan Ullah of Dakhhin Batabaria village, locked into a confrontation with some local youth about a road construction in the area.

At one stage, the local young men chopped and left him critically injured around 10:00am.

Later, he died in a local hospital in the afternoon.

Manoharganj Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Bipul Bhatta told banglanews that the body has been taken to Comilla Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) morgue for autopsy.

No case has been filed yet, he added.
