NOAKHALI: A ruling Awami League (AL) candidate supporter was shot dead in a clash centering Union Parishad (UP) polls at Begumganj of the district on Saturday (May 28).

The deceased was identified as Sayad Ahmad (65).

The clash occurred during UP voting over occupying Fazil Madrasa poll center of Rajganj and left one dead and some injured on the spot.

Begumganj Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sajidur Rahman Sajid told the media that police are going to the spot after being informed by the locals.
