RANGPUR: The sixth phase election of 10 Union Parishads (UPs) in Rangpur Sadar and Gangachhara upazilas will be held on Saturday (June 4).

District election officer GM Sahatab Uddin told banglanews that they are prepared for the election in two upazilas.

A total of 198,255 voters are scheduled to exercise their franchise in 93 polling centers, local election commission informed.

District acting superintendent of police (SP) Abdullah Al Farukh told banglanews that all security measures have been taken to ensure uninterrupted polling in the centers.

Some 22 members of law enforces including ansar, police, armed police will be deployed in every centers. Four mobile court led by an executive magistrate and a judicial magistrate will also be there.

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) will remain on duty as striking force.
