DHAKA: The Election Commission (EC) has coordinated the sixth phase election results of 668 Union Parishad’s (UPs) where ruling Awami League (AL) won in 403 and BNP won in 62 UPs.

Moreover, 184 independent candidates were elected in the polls.

EC election management branch published the result on Sunday (June 5).

However, results of 17 UPs in Rangamati district have not been received yet due to communication problems and 13 UPs election have been halted for irregularities.

A total of 8,584,757 persons enjoyed their franchise presenting 75.68 percent of total voters.

EC’s public relations director SM Asaduzzaman told banglanews that they need more time to publish the full result.
