KUSHTIA: Six members of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Shibir were held among 67 people from seven thanas of the district.

Police conducted the special drives in the thanas from Thursday night (June 9) to Friday morning (June 10).

District additional Superintendent of police (SP) Jainal Abedin said they are conducting the drives to avert sabotage and maintain law and order of the areas.

He said eight people detained from Kushtia Model Thana, eight from Islamic University Thana, 24 from Kumarkhali, 18 from Dowlatpur Thana, five from Mirpur Thana and four other were detained form Bheramara Thana.

The special drive will be continued to keep the people of the areas safe, he added.
