Upazila Jamaat ameer arrested in B’baria

BRAHMANBARIA: Police arrested Banchharampur upazila unit ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami at the wee hours of Saturday (June 11) in the three cases.

The ameer, Mazedul Islam, 40, hailing from Brahmanhata village under Nabinagar upazila of the district, was arrested from Fardabad village in Banchharampur upazila.

Banchharampur police station officer-in-charge (OC) Angshu Kumar Deb confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He further said that there are three cases filed against the Jamaat leader, one each in Banchharampur, Brahmanbaria and Nabinagar police stations.
