CHANPAINAWABGANJ: Police arrested three members of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen (JMB) and seized firearms and explosives from Shibganj upazila of the district on Saturday (June 11).

The arrestees were identified as Shah Waliullah (30), son of Mawlana Afsar Hossain, Isarul Haque (22), son of Mohiuddin and Shahidul Islam Rana (32), son of late Serajuddin of the upazila.

Moreover, police also seized one shooter-gun, six pieces of cocktails, one round of bullet and 500-g explosives from their possession.

Shibganj Thana officer-in-charge (OC) MM Mainul Islam said that the arrestees were accused in several violence cases.

Chanpainawabganj assistant police super (ASP, Circle) Waresh Ali said that the arrestees are active member of JMB.
