ASHULIA: Police detained five members of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir from several areas of the town early Sunday (June 12).

The law enforcers detained them on the third day of anti-militancy special drives across the country and seized a motorcycle from their possession.

Ashulia Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Mahsinul Kadir confirmed the matter to banglanews and said they were sent to jail at noon.

The police teams have been conducting the special drive as per the order of Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque in raise of assassination in the country, he said.
