RANGPUR: Police arrested 60 people including a Jamaat-e-Islami man from eight upazilas of the district on early Thursday (June 30).

The Jamaat man is Tofazzal Hossain, 40, son of Ismail Hossain of Nutunpara Dangapara village of Kurigram district.

Rangpur senior assistant superintendent of police (Senior ASP-B circle) M Saifur Rahman confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

They had been fugitives for long in cases under Sabotage and Anti-Terrorism acts.

The arrestees were sent to the jail through court in the morning, the Senior ASP added.
