FARIDPUR: An Awami League leader was hacked to death by assailants at Saltha upazila of the district early Saturday (July 2).

The deceased was identified as Teharuddin Matabbar (55), a resident of Lakkhandia village under Guti union in Saltha Upazila of the district.

He died after being chopped severely by the assailants. His brother newly elected Sahid Matabbar was also present that that time.

Nagarkanda Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Afsar Uddin told banglanews that the body has been recovered and sent to the Faridpur Medical College and Hospital morgue for autopsy.
