RAJSHAHI: The second-in-command of Siddiqul Islam alias Bangla Bhai, senior leader of outlaw militant outfit Jamaat-ul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), was arrested from his residence in Bagmara upazila of the district on Tuesday (July 12).

Bagmara Thana police inspector (Investigation) Abul Kalam Azad told banglanews that they arrested Abdul Sattar, 50, from the area early morning and later sent him to jail after interrogation.

The arrestee was a fugitive for a long, he added.

However, Abdul Sattar was involved in torturing people of several areas under Bagmara thana along with JMB chief Sayekh Abdur Rahman and Bangla Bhai in 2004.
