RANGPUR: Police arrested 36 people including three Shibir activists conducting special drive at eight upazilas of the district.

The drives were conducted from last night to this morning (July 18).

Arrested Shibir men were residents of Mithapukur of the district.

Mithapukur Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Humayun Kabir told banglanews that the Shibir men were arrested in sabotage and attack of petrol bomb and some other cases. 

Other arrestees were accused of sabotage, theft, robbery, anti-law cases, OC said.

Rangpur Assistant Police Super (B-Circle) Saifur Rahman informed banglanews that the arrestees were sent to the jail by the court.
