DHAKA: Police detained 11 activists of BNP including its assistant office secretary Taiful Islam Tipu in front of party’s Nayapaltan central office on Thursday (July 21).
Central Juba Dal leader Gias Uddin Mamun confirmed the matter to banglanews.
He further said police detained them when they gathered to protest the HC verdict that sentenced seven-year imprisonment to BNP senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman in a money laundering case filed by Anti Corruption Commission (ACC).
Paltan Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Morshed Alam told that they were detained for their alleged involvement in several violence cases.
