RANGPUR: Police have arrested 42 accused including two chargesheeted activists of Jamaat-e-Islami after conducting drives at several upazilas of the district.
The drives were conducted from Sunday night to Monday morning (Aug 1).
Rangpur senior assistant police super (ASP B-Circle) Saifur Rahman told banglanews that the arrestees were warranted accused by the court.
“They were chargesheeted in several cases. Police could not arrest them as they were fugitive for a long.”
The arrestees have been sent to the jail through the court this morning, the ASP added.
