DHAKA: A case has been filed against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on an allegation of harming many people by celebrating her birthday on the basis of fake documents.
Former joint general secretary of Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) Gazi Zahirul Islam filed the case with Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court on Tuesday (30 August).
Metropolitan magistrate Mohammad Mazharul Islam recorded the statement of the plaintiff and said he would deliver an order regarding this later.
The case statement said that after losing power in 1996 BNP chief Khaleda Zia managed the fake documents of her birthday to celebrate on August 15, the national mourning day, which is a betrayal of the nation.
Advocate Dulal Mitra and Tarikul Islam conducted the case on behalf of the plaintiff.
