DHAKA: Politicians from 15 countries will join the upcoming 20th National Council of ruling Awami League (AL).

The council is scheduled to be held on October 22-23.

Road Transport and Bridges minister and AL presidium member Obaidul Quader made the disclosure while monitoring the council’s preparation at city’s Suhrawardi Udyan on Friday (October 14).

AL advisor advocate Yusuf Hossain Humayun, joint general secretary Mahabub-ul-Alam Hanif and organizing secretary Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, among others, were present at the event.

A total of 6,536 councilors, a good number of delegates and hundreds of guests will took part at the meeting.

The participation of foreign politicians will add new dimensions in the council, the minister opined.

According to him, the preparation of the program is in the last stage.
