DHAKA: BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia urged the visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping for ceaseless cooperation in Bangladesh development programs.
The BNP chief came up with this assertion while meeting with the China president at Hotel Le Méridien Dhaka on Friday evening (October 14).
BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir confirmed the matter to media after the meeting.
The two leaders discussed about the bilateral issues, Mirza Fakhrul added.
He further said former president Ziaur Rahman built up the diplomatic relation with China in 1977 for Bangladesh’s economic development.
China always accompanied Bangladesh thenceforth, he opined.
According to the BNP leader, China also hoped that Bangladesh will support China’s geo-political role in development sector.
