SIRAJGANJ: A female suicide squad member of banned extremist outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) was detained from Koddar Mor area under Sadar upazila of the district on Sunday (October 16).

The arrestee was identified as Aklima, 25, daughter of Abdul Aziz hailed from Kazipur upazila.

Confirming the matter, Detective Branch (DB) officer-in-charge (OC) Wahiduzzaman told Banglanews that Aklima confessed that she used to collect members for female suicide squad.

Court inspector Shahidullah said DB police demanded five-day remand of Aklima after producing her before the court.

Later, the court sent her to jail fixing the remand hearing on Tuesday (October 18).
