DHAKA: Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Maqbul Ahmed was elected as party’s new Ameer.
The party disclosed the matter through a press release, signed by assistant publicity secretary S Alam, on Monday (October 17).
It said that Maqbul Hossain was elected through secret ballots by the party activists.
The press release further mentioned that Maqbul took an oath in the presence of party’s central leaders.
However, the release did not mention the place of election and Maqbul Ahmed’s swearing in.
