DHAKA: The Election Commission (EC) will take votes in 400 Union Parishads (UP) of the country including the erstwhile enclaves on Monday (October 31).

Voting will begin at 8:00am and continue till 4:00pm.

A general holiday has been declared to the electoral areas.

EC’s management wing made the announcement to media on Sunday (October 30).

Sources said, among 400 UPs, 12 UPs have already got chairmen unopposed.

EC deputy-secretary Farhad Ahmed Khan told Banglanews that all preparations regarding the election has completed. Law enforcers have been deployed at the polling stations.

“We hope it will be a fair election,” he added.
