DHAKA: Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) expelled two of their men for attacking hawkers with firearms in Gulistan.

The expelled BCL men are general secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan South unit Sabbir Hossain and general secretary of Wari Thana unit Ashiqur Rahman.

BCL central unit general secretary SM Zakir Hossain confirmed the matter to Banglanews on Monday (October 31).

Earlier on Thursday (October 27), Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) employees and some youths engaged in clashes with the hawkers during the eviction of illegal shops on the footpath of city’s Gulistan area.

Several rounds of blank shots had been fired at that time while two BCL leaders were seen with arms in the photographs taken from the spot and later published in newspapers.
