RAJSHAHI: Police recovered the bullet-hit body of a BNP leader of Rajshahi metropolitan city unit from his residence on Wednesday (November 16) afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Khandaker Mainul Islam, 61, vice-president of Rajshahi city unit BNP, also former general secretary of district sports association.

Rajpara police station officer-in-charge (OC) Amanullah told Banglanews they recovered the body and sent it to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.

“Though the incident seems as an act of suicide, police will conduct a through investigation,” he added.
