GAIBANDHA: A nine-member BNP delegation have visited Santals hamlet in Gabindaganj upazila of the district on Friday (November 18).
The team led by BNP Chairperson’s advisor Joynul Abedin Farukh reached Joypurpara and Madarpur areas around 10:00 am and talked with the victim Santals people.
Before that, they distributed cloths and relief items among the victims.
In response to a query of journalists, Joynul Abedin alleged the government carried out the attack, torture and subjugation on the indigenous people.
However, delegation members are- BNP divisional organizing secretary Asadul Habib Dulu, religious affairs secretary Amalendu Das Opu, Gaibandha district BNP president Anisuzzaman Khan Babu, organizing secretary advocate Mizanur Rahman Mizan, Gabindaganj upazila BNP president principal Abdul Mannan Mandal, municipality BNP general secretary Altab Hossain Pata.
Law enforcers evicted the Santal community people from their land in Gobindaganj upazila on November 6 and 7 claiming them as illegal settlers.
At least 30 Santal injured and three others killed in the conflict between police and Santal community.
