CHITTAGONG: A Swechhasebok League leader was shot dead in Alkoron area under Kotwali Thana of the district on Sunday (December 11).

The deceased was identified as Ibrahim Hossain Manik, 25.

Kotwali Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Jasim Uddin told Banglanews that 8-10 members of Ibrahim group attacked his rival M Rana and his friends around 1:00pm over the shop grabbing when he was returning home from court.

Later, both group locked into a clash and opened fire, leaving Manik dead on the spot.

Chittagong Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) police outpost in-charge Zahirul Islam told Banglanews that locals spotted the bullet hit Manik in the area and took him to the hospital.

However, police arrested Rana in this connection.
