DHAKA: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir reiterated his party’s earlier call that they want to participate in the election under such a poll-time government who won’t influence the polls.
The senior BNP leader stressed the urge while addressing a discussion as the chief guest, marking the 10th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Kalyan Party Saturday (December 9).
“We have said earlier that the election won’t be fair if it is arranged under the authorization of present government. Therefore, we want the polls to be held under a supportive government.”
“We want such an election where the people can use their voting rights in righteous manner”, added Fakhrul.
He also said that BNP won’t allow the government to arrange a 2014-like election which he termed as a ‘voter less’ one.
The discussion was presided over by Kalyan Party Chairman Maj Gen (retd) Syed Muhammad Ibrahim attended by some of his party leaders among others.
