DHAKA: Opposition BNP is set to stage protest programme across the country on Thursday protesting ICT-1 verdict that awarded death penalty to Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury for war crimes.

The party will hold a rally at Suhrawardy Udyan at 3:00pm.

BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam announced the programme on Wednesday afternoon at party’s Nayapaltan office.

The party claimed Salahuddin Quader Choudhury did not get justice.

Earlier on Tuesday, BNP lawmaker Salauddin Quader Chowdhury was awarded death penalty for his involvement in crimes against humanity during liberation war in 1971.
