Lawyers’ demo violating DMP ban

DHAKA: Pro-BNP-Jamaat lawyers brought out a procession in capital’s Judge Court premises on Sunday noon violating the prohibition of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on holding on types of gatherings.

The hearing on the case against acting editor of Daily Amar Desh Mahmudur Rahman was adjourned and he was sent back to jail.

Emerging from the court room, the section of lawyers protested at the balcony of the court for a while demanding the restoration of caretaker government system and immediate release of Mahmudur Rahman, said a spot account.

Earlier on Saturday, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) imposed a ban on holding any kind of meetings, processions and rallies in the capital for an indefinite period from Sunday morning to avert anarchy and confrontation.
