DHAKA: The local administrations imposed section 144 in various place of the country to avert an imminent clash between BNP and Awami League Friday.
In Netrokona: The district administration imposed section 144 to keep the situation under control in Netrokona municipal of the district from Friday morning.
District Police Super Jakir Hossain Khan told banglanews, “No untoward situation was reported till 9:00am.”
In Panchagarh: Upazila administration imposed section 144 in Boda and Debiganj upazilas in the district on Friday morning.
In Jamalpur: Upazila administration imposed section 144 in Sarishabari Upazila of the district from 6:00am Friday.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Kazi Gulshan Abida issued the ban on Thursday night as Awami league and BNP called demonstrations at same venue.
In Joypurhat, the administration imposed section 144 in municipal area from 6:00pm Thursday to 6:00am Saturday.
To avert any kind of subversive acts, police in several drives held 28 people from five upazilas of the district.
In Cox’s Bazar, Chakaria upazila administration issued section 144 in the area for indefinite period from 11:45am Friday to maintain law and order.
