Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah helped Bangladesh reach a respectable total of 245/9 against New Zealand on Friday in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.
New Zealand seamers Matt Henry and Trent Boult picked two wickets each while Lockie Ferguson claimed three at Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium. The Kiwi bowlers were sharp from the beginning as Kane Williamson returned fit to lead his side.
Mushfiqur Rahim made 66 from 75 balls while Shakib Al Hasan was dismissed for 40 from 51. Mahmudullah remained unbeaten on 41 and provided some fire to the Bangladesh innings towards the end.
