Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club registered their first win in the Bangladesh Premier League football as they defeated Bangladesh Police Football Club at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh on Saturday (December 30).
The first half of the match saw attacks and counterattacks by both the teams.
The backdrop of the match suddenly changed when Police FC's defender Isa Faysal scored a suicidal in the 55th minute of the match.
After the suicidal goal, Police FC however tried their best to fight back in the match but could not score any in the remaining proceeding and eventually they had to leave the field with empty hand.
Earlier, in the first round matches, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club suffered a 1-2 goal defeat to Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra while Bangladesh Police FC blanked Chittagong Abahani Limited by 2-0 goals.
Fortis stun Abahani
Fortis Football Club stunned Abahani Limited, Dhaka beating them by a solitary goal in the Bangladesh Premier League football held at Muktijoddha Smrity Stadium in Rajshahi today.
In the day's match, Ukrainian forward Valeriy Gryshyn scored the all-
important goal for Fortis FC in the 37th minute of the match.
Abahani Limited, however got several scoring chances but failed to stage a fight back in the match in the remaining proceeding.
Earlier, in the first round matches, Fortis Football Club suffered a 1-2 goal defeat to Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited while Abahani were held by Rahmatganj playing to a 1-1 goal draw.
