DHAKA: New Zealand all-rounder Corey Anderson has hit the fastest ODI century in history, racing to 101 off just 36 balls in Queenstown Wednesday.

Anderson hit a six to break the previous record, held by Pakistan`s Shahid Afridi, by one ball, reports Otago Daily Times. ‎

He finished unbeaten on 131 off 47, which included a mind-boggling 14 sixes.

The big-hitter shared a monster partnership with Jess Ryder as New Zealand amassed a barely believable 283/4 off 21 overs in the rain-shortened game.

Ryder smashed 104 off 51 balls in a highly entertaining knock.

Play at the Queenstown Events Centre got under way at 4.10pm.

The game has been reduced to a 21-over affair after rain meant no play was possible earlier.

The West Indies won the toss and have elected to field. They are without test captain Darren Sammy, who injured himself while warming up this morning.
