Bangladesh to face India in UAE, Pakistan in Rawalpindi

Bangladesh will kick off their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign against India in Dubai on February 20.

The team will then face New Zealand and Pakistan in Rawalpindi on February 24 and February 27, respectively.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Thursday that all matches involving India in the eight-team tournament would be held outside Pakistan.

This decision follows a hybrid hosting model agreed upon by the stakeholders, ensuring that Pakistan’s matches in ICC events hosted by India until 2027 will also take place at neutral venues.

Pakistan, the host nation, selected Dubai as a neutral venue for India's games after India declined to travel to Pakistan for the tournament.

The event will begin on February 19, 2025, with Pakistan facing New Zealand in Karachi. A highly anticipated league-stage clash between Pakistan and India is scheduled for February 23.

Bangladesh, along with India, New Zealand, and Pakistan, forms one of the tournament's two groups. The second group comprises Afghanistan, Australia, England, and South Africa. Matches for both groups, except India’s games, will be held across Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi.

The knockout stages include two semi-finals on March 4 (without a reserve day) and March 5 (with a reserve day).

The final is set for March 9, with a reserve day in place. If India advances to the semi-finals or final, these matches will be held in the UAE. Otherwise, they will take place in Pakistan as scheduled.
