Durbar Rajshahi's Taskin Ahmed etched his name in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) history books on Thursday with the best-ever bowling figures in the tournament.
Taskin took 7 wickets for just 19 runs in his 4 overs against Dhaka Capitals at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
His incredible performance broke the previous BPL record of 6/18, set by Mohammad Amir in 2020. Taskin's 7/19 is also the third-best bowling performance in recognized T20 cricket, behind Malaysia's Syazrul Idrus, who holds the record with 7/8.
Moreover, Taskin's 7/19 now stands as the best bowling figure by any Bangladeshi bowler in T20 cricket, surpassing Shakib Al Hasan's 6/6 for Barbados Tridents in the 2013 Caribbean Premier League.
Taskin's spell was marked by four wickets in his first three overs, followed by a sensational final over where he claimed three more wickets, conceding just two runs.
He was also on the brink of a hat-trick, but Nazmul Islam broke the sequence with a single on the fourth delivery.
