India showcased resilience and composure to book their place in the Champions Trophy final, overcoming Australia by four wickets in Dubai today (March 4).

Chasing a target of 265, India faced early setbacks with skipper Rohit Sharma and opener Shubman Gill departing within the first eight overs.

However, Virat Kohli, known for his mastery in pressure chases, anchored the innings with a composed 84. Just when it seemed he would steer India home, he miscued a shot to Adam Zampa at long-on, leaving the team needing 40 runs from 45 balls.

Sensing an opportunity, Australia tightened the screws, but Hardik Pandya countered with two towering sixes in his quickfire 28 off 24 deliveries, easing the pressure.

Though he fell with India just six runs away, KL Rahul sealed the victory in style with a six, finishing the chase with 11 balls to spare.

Earlier, buoyed by a passionate crowd, India delivered a disciplined bowling performance, dismissing Australia for 264 in 49.3 overs.

Australia seemed well set at 198-4 in the 38th over, but the momentum shifted when captain Steve Smith, who grafted 73, and Glenn Maxwell were bowled in quick succession, triggering a collapse.

With this win, India have ensured that Sunday's final will take place in Dubai instead of Lahore, following their decision not to travel to host nation Pakistan.

They will face the winner of the second semi-final between New Zealand and South Africa, set to be played in Lahore on Wednesday
