Five exceptional women and the Bangladesh National Women's Cricket Team were honoured with the "Indomitable Women's Award-2025" for their remarkable contributions across various fields.
The awards were presented by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus at a ceremony held at Osmani Memorial Auditorium to mark International Women's Day.
Women and Children Affairs Adviser Sharmeen S. Murshid chaired the event, which was attended by members of the Council of Advisers, diplomats, women leaders, and senior government officials.
The awardees included Sharifa Sultana, Halima Begum, Marina Besra, Lipi Begum, Muhin Mohona, and members of the Bangladesh National Women's Cricket Team.
The event featured speeches from UN Resident Coordinator in Bangladesh Gwyn Lewis, Professor Gitiara Nasreen of Dhaka University, and Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs Mamtaj Ahmed. A documentary and a cultural performance highlighting the July uprising were also part of the program.
