Former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal fell ill during a Dhaka Premier League (DPL) match between Mohammedan Sporting Club and Shinepukur Cricket Club at BKSP and has been admitted to a hospital in Savar.
According to the sources, the Mohammedan captain has been admitted to a hospital due to chest pain.
Citing hospital sources, BCB's head of the medical department Debashish Chowdhury said, Tamim suffered a heart attack and has been diagnosed with a heart blockage.
Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Memorial Hospital's Admin Manager, Hasan, told Banglanews: "Tamim Iqbal is undergoing treatment under the supervision of Dr. Moniruzzaman from the hospital's cardiology department. He is currently on life support."
According to the latest updates, a heart stent has been inserted, and his condition has improved compared to before.
The BCB had a board of directors meeting scheduled at 12 noon today but it has been cancelled as top board officials are rushing to the hospital in Savar.
