Kylian Mbappé's decisive strike helped Real Madrid recover and defeat Leganés, leveling them on points with Barcelona at the top of La Liga.
The French forward opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, converting a Panenka penalty past Marko Dmitrovic after Arda Güler was fouled in the box.
However, Leganés responded quickly, with Diego García equalizing just a minute later by tapping in at the back post following poor defending by Madrid.
Before halftime, Dani Raba gave the visitors a surprising lead at the Bernabéu, slotting home Oscar Rodríguez's cutback past Andriy Lunin.
Madrid's England midfielder, Jude Bellingham, responded within two minutes of the second half, scoring his eighth league goal of the season by following up Brahim Díaz's shot.
Mbappé then netted his 33rd goal of the season, curling a free-kick through a gap in the Leganés wall with 15 minutes remaining to secure a 3-2 win for the hosts.
Despite missing key players such as Vinícius Jr., Rodrygo, and Federico Valverde, Real Madrid are now level with Barcelona on points, though they have played one more match.
Barcelona will have the chance to reclaim the top spot on Sunday when they face Girona at 15:30 BST.
