DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina watched the final match of FIFA World Cup Football-2014 on Sunday night though her favorite team Brazil slipped out from the tournament earlier.

Moreover, after watching the match she also regret for the Argentine ‘trump’ Lionel Messi that if he could make a goal there!

The premier expressed her sympathy for Messi on Monday morning at the cabinet meeting held at the secretariat in city.

A member of cabinet, who joined the meeting told banglanews that last night’s Argentina-Germany final match was their ‘talk of the meeting’.

Just after joining the meeting, a member asked the PM about whether she watched the World Cup final match or not, as her favorite Brazil was out of the tournament, he added.

However, Sheikh Hasina informed him that she had also enjoyed the match as a football fan.

“I would be happier if Messi could score a goal there – after all, there was a hope about him,” she told the cabinet.

Not only the PM also a couple of members of the cabinet regret for Argentina in the meeting.

Earlier, it was known that the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, opposition leader Raushan Ershad and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia were supporting Brazil in the World Cup.

After losing Brazil in the semi-final many of them were keeping hope on Lionel Messi of Argentina.

But, he also disappointed the fans as Germany won the cup beating Argentina by 1-0 on Sunday night.
